My Frigidaire French Door refrigerator stopped cooling and the temperature began to rise. I called Longhorn Appliance repair and Al promptly scheduled an appointment for the next day to come and check out the problem. Al arrived promptly in the designated window (and called when he was on his way) and quickly assessed the problem. It turns out the fridge was not properly defrosting, leading to ice build up and an inability of the fan to circulate cold air, which he noted was a common problem with this brand and model. Al indicated it would be about 400 dollars to replace the defrost kit, and said he would call with the final estimate by end of day once he found out the price for the part, but he also was honest and indicated the problem would most likely recur within the next 6-12 months because of a poor design. We've had all kinds of problems with this fridge since we bought it 6 years ago (especially the ice maker), and what Al said confirmed that. He actually recommended we replace the refrigerator, even though it would be in his best interest to repair it.
