I had scheduled a preventive maintenance checkup for my unit. The technician inspected my AC unit and mentioned that one of them required refrigerant. When my wife informed the technician about leaks in the vents downstairs, he suggested that the coil needed replacement, which he quoted at $4500. My wife found the pricing suspicious and contacted me. The technician then pushed for the coil replacement, but I decided to only proceed with the refrigerant refill. However, after topping up the refrigerant, the technician claimed that a cap valve needed replacement, adding another $2400 to the bill. I was taken aback by the fluctuating prices and declined any further services. Subsequently, the technician proposed a new unit costing $11,000, with financing options. I declined and insisted on just paying for the refrigerant. The technician seemed frustrated by my decision, and I felt uncomfortable with his sales tactics rather than his technical expertise. I expressed my intention to seek a second opinion due to my lack of trust in his judgment. Later that day, I engaged a reputable company to assess the unit. It turned out that the technician's claims were unfounded. The moisture leak was due to dirty filters, not a coil issue, and there was no need for a new AC unit. I was deeply disappointed with Hansen and the technician they sent, Eric. I advise anyone considering Hansen to explore alternative options. I will not engage their services again, as I nearly fell for an unnecessary $11,000 expense on work that could have been done for around $200.

I met Rodger Dogget today. He came out to check on my A/C unit. He works for Hansen. It needed freon. However, government rules and regulations made the freon too expensive. Rodger was a pleasure to meet and so was John Gianelli (field supervisor). The old unit is still willing, but the rules are forcing me to buy something new. I look forward to working with both to solve my problem.,

She answered the phone in a professional manner, then proceeded to give me availability of service. She spoke clearly and assured me that her husband would arrive in a timely manner, which he did. This is Howard Walker; I arrived home just after JD had repaired the refrigerator. His explanations of the probable causes and options for repair were clear, and reflected a cost-effective approach to our refrigerator: a relatively low-cost repair to prolong the "life" of our refrigerator; when this fails at some point in the future, he recommended purchase of a new appliance rather than a more extensive-and expensive-repair on our older appliance. In addition, this same week our clothes dryer became unreliable; JD mentioned an easy way to check whether the problem was the dryer or the exhaust venting (which had caused a problem in the past). Once again his explanation was clear and led us to a cost-effective solution.
