Best Ice Maker Repair Companies in Metairie, Louisiana

I contacted Solar to request service on my under-counter ice machine. They were prompt and a technician came out the following week. He was a very nice man but as it turns out he was not experienced in working on this type of ice machine. Over a period of several weeks he came out four times. On the second visit he diagnosed the problem to be the water pump which he replaced on the 3rd visit. At this point I have spent over $500 and it did not fix the problem. I called back to a few days later to request another service call. The same person came back out and he said he had spoken to a person who specializes on working on the machine. He was told to check a few things, which he did and once again turned the machine back on and said it appears to be working. I let it run a few day and once again it was not producing ice. I once again called Solar and they said that they would send someone else with the technician this time (5th visit). Upon arrival the new technician opened the door to ice machine and immediately spotted the problem. One of the parts (the ice chute) was simply upside down, which he quickly corrected and which fixed the problem. I called Solar to express my concerns that had the technician been qualified to service this type of ice machine it would have been fixed on the first visit and I would not have had to pay for the water pump and labor. The person I spoke with said she would pass my concern to the service manager and he would call me back. After several days I called back and this time I was told I needed to talk to the customer service manager. After some phone tag I finally spoke to her and she told me she would need to talk with the service manager. After a week with no response I called her back and was told that the service manager spoke to the owner and I was told their would be no adjustment to my bill. That was it no curtesy call, no explanation and no satisfaction. After being inconvenienced for 5 house calls over a period of nearly two months out over $500 for what should have been fixed on the first service call, all I got was I'm sorry. I will say that everyone I spoke with was very nice but I am very disappointed with management/ownership for not at least having the curtesy to call me directly and try to address my concerns. Very unprofessional.

Chris was a knowledgeable and friendly technician. He wasn’t able to repair the ice maker because it was a plumbing issue, but he was very helpful in making me understand what the likely issue was and how to convey this properly to the plumber. Thanks Chris!

Misdiagnosed Ice maker not working three times. Promised to return call .... never happened. Had to call them myself as they kept giving my wife the runaround. They're impolite, unprofessional and quite frankly totally inept. Still waiting on a refund. Zero stars if possible
