Albin was amazing and very knowledgeable about our refrigerator. He performed all sorts of tests and rebooted the refrigerator. We will see if the lines thaw out and we will have ice again. If you care about price and don’t want to feel taken advantage of, DO NOT use this company! I have a water connection leak on my refrigerator ice/water line, nothing is broken or not working with the fridge, only need water line connections reconnected, I purchased the wrong part a couple times and just decided to hire someone to fix it. I was told by the office staff that there was a $129 call out/diagnostic charge just for coming out, but that it would be applied towards any repair job they preformed. I understand the charge and was willing to pay to have it fixed correctly. I assumed that due to being such a minor repair involving 2 plastic connectors that the job would be less than the $129, so I would pay that even if it is a little high, just so I did not have to deal with the leak anymore. I was also told that the repair guys have most common supplies needed with them on the van, most likely would only have to come back if they had to order parts. The service technician came out today, not only did he not have the parts with him, he told me that he would not be able to come back today and that the repair would be 2 to 3 hundred plus for the work, depending on if the whole water line was replaced or just reconnected. I asked why so much for such a small job, he told me the minimum labor charge was $189 for any job. So in other words they charge you $129 ($139 with tax) just to come out, but no matter the job you will never “only” pay that much. But you are already paying that much, so most people will pay the extra as to not “lose” that amount, total bait and switch. I decided I would rather give my money to someone else that doesn’t make me feel like I am being taken advantage of. I paid $139 and I will never use them again and I hope this review will make you think twice before wasting your hard earned money UDADATE Shortly after my review was posted a manager called me, he apologized and asked how they could make it right. He also refunded the $139 service call. I appreciate the call and refund. They made good on the situation and I appreciate that. We had a very positive experience with Steven Alden Appliance. I was particularly impressed with their availability, promptness, technical expertise, and follow-up after the service call. Our problem turned out to be multiple component failures including the compressor and two evaporator coil fans. The failed compressor was diagnosed immediately and replaced promptly under warranty. Persistent problems with the ice maker necessitated two follow-up visits that resulted in the replacement of two evaporator coil fans. If you need refrigerator repairs, I recommend Steven Alden Appliance highly and without hesitation. Below are more details of our experience. We discovered late one Monday afternoon that our LG refrigerator was not cooling -- neither the refrigerator nor the freezer, and it was not making ice. After a pointless text message interaction with LG's service line, I decided to call Steven Alden Appliance. I expected to get their voice mail at 10 pm and I intended to leave a message to get in line for a service appointment, but, lo and behold, Steven answered the phone! We had a "live" chat and he scheduled a service appointment for the next morning (Tuesday). Steven immediately suspected a failing compressor. The tech confirmed Steven's suspicion Tuesday morning and another tech was dispatched to replace the compressor. The new compressor was installed and working by 1:00 pm Tuesday. We were advised to wait 12 hours for the refrigerator to reach operating temperature and for ice production to begin. Steven followed up with me at 7:30 Wednesday morning to check the status of our refrigerator. At that time, items in the freezer were frozen solid and the temperature in the refrigerator was 40 degrees, but no ice had been generated. Steven decided to dispatch a tech to recheck refrigerant levels. Steven arrived with a tech at 9:45 Wednesday morning. They added a small amount of refrigerant and checked for leaks. There were no leaks. He and the tech left at 10:15. I was advised to wait another 12 to 24 hours for ice production to begin. There was still no ice Thursday morning, so I notified Steven and he dispatched two techs for additional diagnostic work. They arrived at 11:00 am and, within 30 minutes, noted that the evaporator coil fan for the ice maker was inoperative and the one for the freezer was failing. They recommended replacing both of them. I agreed, the fans were located locally and installation was completed by 3:00 pm. At that point, the refrigerator was then operating normally. It continues to do so. I recommend Steven Alden Appliance without hesistation for their fast, quality service, very knowledgeable techs, timely follow-up after service, and commitment to continue working until I was completely satisfied.
