Contacted Service Brothers for some service on a freezer in a refrigerator in my garage. Have used them before multiple times with no issues so felt comfortable using them again. Last Friday Tim the tech came out and looked the unit over. I was told it was a bad thermostat and they would need to replace. He picked up a new one and had it in within a hour or so it was replaced. For this I was charged almost $300, that I understood with the going costs for appliance repair. However, after the tech left, we noticed that the temp in the freezer was running in the 20s and not where we were told it should, at around 0 to 10 degrees. This was after several hours, so I contacted the tech and was told he would return around mid afternoon on the following Monday. After waiting around the afternoon. I was then told he would be back after 5pm. He returned and told be he would return after getting a different thermostat, hopefully the next day to try to replace the one put in. On Tuesday, after not hearing anything from him I called and left a message, no reply. The next day I decided to contact the company and go a different route to see if I could get them to contact me and come out to change out the part. Was called back from another person but missed the call. Had to call back and leave a message. Since then I have called the company back a couple of times with no response yet. I am not happy with their lack of response. I was told that the part they put in may have been defective and bring out another, but no follow up yet. This was after I was told that they would be bringing out a different thermostat. At this point I have been waiting 4 days for the company's return visit with a different part to get the freezer down to an more acceptable temp to keep food frozen.

Had old whirlpool refrigerator/freezer that cooling was intermittent. Austin came out, knew immediately the issue (thermostat) and replaced. No issues so far. Service was fast and efficient. Thank you Service Brothers!

Update: they did issue a refund and really apologized for the issues I experienced. TLDR: tech was rude and misdiagnosed issue, save your money and try anyone else. We had a terrible experience with their service. When I called to schedule a service call they made it clear they won't work on LG refrigerator compressors because they are known to be bad parts. With that in mind they called the tech to describe our issue and determined it sounded like a fan issue and came out. They came out and said it was the compressor and told us to call LG or stop having an LG fridge. LG came out and immediately found the issue was the freezer Evap fan and after service brothers left us hanging came and fixed it for us under warranty. I even called service brothers to let them know their tech was wrong and not only did he give me a hard time but even after being escalated to the owner he said he'd order the part and be out in a few days. It has been weeks and we still have not heard back.

It's now been 2 weeks since our fridge & freezer quit working. I contacted this place because they've done work on this appliance previously. They send a guy out on 05/17/23 & his total time there is 10m TOPS & he says "it's your evaporator coil which isn't covered by your warranty, so it'll be $950." I told my husband to pay the service fee & tell the guy we'll get a second opinion. I called LG, who said it is under warranty & created a service request with this place, to have it repaired. They have ordered an unknown part, as of 05/26/23. I called to, at the very least, be refunded for the $95 service fee that we were charged, given Cody didn't provide us with the PROPER information, but based on other reviews, it looks like I'm just part of their scheme to scam customers with outrageous $95 service fees that amount to no resolution for the consumer. We have two children. Since 5/17/23, we've had no ice. No perishables. Cannot store leftovers. Cannot shop for perishable groceries. But hey, they got their $95, right? 🥴 But if you ask the lady that answers the phones, "your refrigerator isn't technically under warranty" despite her staring right at an active service request from LG, indicating that it is. So this should be fun.

Do NOT use this company to repair your fridge/freezer. We have a Samsung fridge so we were left with no choice. If you have any other fridge then use another company. TLDR: problem with the compressor discovered December 26th; issue hopefully will finally be resolved January 27th. It has taken them a month and it will be at least 4 trips for them to replace a compressor. A part of the delay is that they are the only Samsung authorized repair center. The rest of the delay is sheer incompetence by Mid America. Technicians do not seem to come to your house ready to make a repair. The first one was sent to diagnose the problem and understandably didn't have a compressor in his van. The second one came with a new compressor but improperly installed a valve which made the issue worse. Days later a third technician was sent out to determine that the valve was faulty which resulted in a new part needing to be ordered delaying repair even longer. Mid America ordered the wrong part and did not alert us to that issue until less than 2 hours before their scheduled arrival time. It is now taking them another 8 days to get the right part delivered (despite a request to get a rush delivery on the part) and an additional day to get the repair scheduled. Hopefully it will finally be fixed then but I remain doubtful until then.
