Our older counter-depth Kitchen Aid refrigerator / freezer went out on a Friday night. Thought it was a compressor but called ASAP Monday morning, and Jason came Monday afternoon. He diagnosed a fried circuit board and was able to order a replacement to be delivered Tuesday. He came Tuesday and fixed the refrigerator, saving us $2000! 5 stars! We'd use ASAP for any appliance repairs!

Placed a call to Mr Ed regarding an older refrigerator that was freezing food. He promptly returned call, listening to our assessment and rather than coming to diagnose and charge us, he offered a simple suggestion, which we tried and are very pleased to report that it worked!!! It is nice to witness that there are people of integrity, willing to offer help and not strictly money motivated!!! Highly recommend!!

Very thorough work and explanations. Initial diagnostic, scheduled the work, came as scheduled, explained the work as he was going and tested several times before leaving to ensure new compressor was cooling in LG fridge/freezer.

I moved into a new place and found the sub-zero was not holding temp in the freezer. I called these guys and was assured they knew how to work on these. When the owner showed up for the appointment, I pointed out the gasket was ripped and needed replacement. I also said the doors are misaligned (not even at the top) and most likely that contributed to the gasket issue due to doors hitting. His answer was “well they are supposed to be misaligned”. That’s not true of course. He also said you could not adjust the doors gap on the model I have (that’s not true either), So he spent a little time and said, “yes the gaskets needed to replaced”, he would order them and as soon as he got a ship date from Sub Zero, they would call with a follow up appointment. A few days later I got the call, and we set a time. On the day he was to be here he called and said only one gasket had arrived (I was replacing both). He indicated Sub Zero said it would be there later that day and perhaps he could come out later in the day. No follow up. I was leaving town for a few days so disappointed it would not get done so it could “settle” in while I was away. We had scheduled an appointment for the following Monday when I would be home. On my way back into town on Friday I called and asked if we were all set. The answer from his office was yes. On Monday I got a call saying the gasket was still not there. Needles to say not a very satisfied customer. The only positive outcome is he did not give me any resistance in giving me my deposit back. The second company I used ordered the gaskets, replaced them and adjusted the doors so they don’t hit (what caused the gasket to fail in the first place).

Tim fixed our freezer water line leak very well! His service was above and beyond and even told us about the crack in our ice bin and where to find the part cheaper! My husband was very impressed with his work. Thank you Marshall Appliance Repair for your quality service!

Tim has been a wonder! He is so pleasant to deal with, professional, knowledgeable, capable…I could go on but you get the idea! He first came to our home to fix a washing machine that was not working properly. I am embarrassed to say the problem was that after returning from a recent trip, the water valves had not been fully turned back on…he moved the dryer to get to the washing machine valves and accidentally dislodged the dryer vent that had not been installed well. No problem, he promptly replaced the dryer vent tubing with a new one. Then he cleaned out the rest of the vent just to be sure no material had gotten into the vent. He jokingly asked if there was anything else…well…our ice machine was not making ice unless we manually swung the lever to the “make ice” position. In 5 minutes he took out the mechanism, adjusted the spring and reinstalled the mechanism. For good measure he put a new light bulb in the freezer section which was actually broken in two and would have been difficult for me to replace! His charge for all this was super reasonable. He could have (and other companies would have) charged 3 times as much! A few weeks later he had to return because my refrigerator was not working right. He replaced the evaporative fan and did a major cleaning job under and around the fridge. I was told that such repairs would cost $300-400 but he only charged about half of that. Sorry this review is so long but…Tim is the best! I very much appreciate people like him who are competent, pleasant to work with, efficient, and have reasonable charges. I just hope he stays around for a long, long time!

The service guys at Ortega's are masters of diagnostics. JE came by to replace our 18 year-old Sub-Zero freezer fan motor and drawer gasket (he had nailed the two related problems earlier) and so I asked about a drain problem on our dishwasher. He nailed that too--an almost completely occluded drain hose full of gunk, which I fixed myself right after JE left. Thank you JE!

Service was performed by Daniel on my refrigerator which had a water leak from the ice maker. He replaced ice maker and adjusted the inlet. The next day we still had a leak from somewhere. We called back and Daniel found the defrost unit was froze up. He cleared and cleaned the coils. Service was prompt and Daniel was very knowledgeable in his trade.
